13 TIKIS are Chicago’s premier Surf & Instrumental band. They bring the excitment of sax driven Garage-Rock and the fun of Instro Surf to the much needed Chicago Area.
Formed in 2004 when guitarist Phil Tiki found drummer Jack The Ripper on MySpace. Larry, Mr. Friday, joined on bass to bring the music of Link Wray to life. Suzie joined on sax shortly after and have been playing all over the Midwest ever since.
In 2008, they were asked to be part of the “Induct Link Wray Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” concert in Cleveland, OH. Members of Link’s family, Ed Cynar from Link’s Wraymen as well as members of the RRHOF were in attendance.
Amazing guitarist, Stevie Martini joined in 2009 to complete the lineup.
13 TIKIS have played places such as Trader Vic’s, Reggie’s Rock Club, The Liar’s Club, and Friendy Tap in Chicago, The Foundation in Milwaukee, WI, The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH and are regulars at Oak Fest in Oak Forest, IL.
Look for a CD of original material in early 2011.
